 This week’s theme is dedicated to white lions, rare and luminous animals whose pale coats are the result of a natural genetic variation rather than albinism. Native to the Greater Timbavati region of South Africa, they have long carried a powerful symbolic presence, associated with light, courage and the mysteries of the natural world. Their beauty has also made them vulnerable to exploitation and trophy hunting, while conservation efforts work to protect them and restore them to their ancestral landscapes. Throughout this week, I will explore the white lion through different visual interpretations, hoping to capture something of its quiet strength, strangeness and extraordinary beauty.

I also consider a wider question: as AI becomes increasingly capable of finding weaknesses in software, are we entering a new era of cybersecurity? Every Monday, I introduce a new weekly theme, and this week we set off with A Rowing Boat on a River. More than a journey through water and changing landscapes, it is also a journey through different aesthetics — painterly, graphic, poetic, colourful, abstract or unexpected. The boat remains our quiet traveller, while the river carries us from one visual world to another.

These images are generative art originals, individually imagined, prompted, rendered, selected and curated by me, Tita Costa. Each one is the result of a creative dialogue with generative technology, guided by my own choices of subject, composition, atmosphere and aesthetic direction. Together, they explore how one simple idea — a boat travelling along a river — can unfold into many different visual languages.
