Every Monday, a new theme begins on the blog, and this week I am looking down — at floor tiles. Often overlooked beneath our feet, tiles can carry an extraordinary visual language: repeating geometries, floral ornaments, worn colours, unexpected combinations, and traces of the places and people that have walked across them. From old patterned ceramics to simple stone and contemporary designs, floors can become compositions in their own right. Throughout the week, I will explore decorative floor tiles.
