Creating Art Mockups with Midjourney and ChatGPT

Presentation matters. A beautiful artwork deserves an equally beautiful setting, and high-quality mockups are one of the best ways to visualize how an image might look in a real interior.

For this series, I created a collection of contemporary wall art mockups using Midjourney. Some of the prompts were developed by me, while others were refined with the help of ChatGPT to explore different interior styles, lighting conditions, architectural spaces, and presentation formats. The result is a diverse collection ranging from minimalist galleries and Scandinavian living rooms to industrial lofts and luxury contemporary interiors.

The mockups were intentionally rendered with blank square frames, creating a clean placeholder for artwork. In a second step, I returned to ChatGPT to insert my Midjourney-generated artworks into these empty frames, producing realistic presentation images suitable for my portfolio and blog.

This workflow combines the strengths of both tools. Midjourney excels at generating highly aesthetic interiors with remarkable lighting, textures, and atmosphere, while ChatGPT provides an efficient way to organize the creative process, refine prompts, and integrate the final artworks into the mockup compositions.

The entire process demonstrates how generative AI can streamline the creation of professional presentation materials for artists, illustrators, photographers, and designers. Instead of relying on stock mockups or traditional photo editing alone, it is now possible to generate unique, custom environments that perfectly complement each artwork.

All mockups and artworks presented here were created using AI-assisted workflows, illustrating how these tools can become valuable creative partners rather than simply image generators.
